RUPERT

We met Rupert at a local shelter after hearing that he was shutting down in the kennel. We spent time playing with him, but when it was time to go back to his kennel, he pumped his brakes and refused to move. The shelter staff had to carry him back to his kennel. His sad eyes broke our hearts, so we busted him out! During his first few weeks in a foster home, Rupert was incredibly stressed out and needed extra time to decompress before we could make him available for adoption. His amazing foster dad and foster dog siblings helped him relax over a few weeks. He’s now finally showing us that he is ready for his own forever home!

Rupert is a very very smart dog! With this intelligence, he needs a dedicated family who will continue working on basic manners, but also an active home to tire this energetic boy out! He does best living with other dogs who will play and comfort him. Rupert loves to hike, play fetch, and can jump & catch a frisbee like nothing we have ever seen!! Due to his exceptional ability to jump straight up in the air, Rupert needs a home with a tall fenced in yard – we’ve seen him clear a 4 foot gate! We think he would love dog sports, so if you’re into dock diving or other sports, he could be your next champion!

Rupert has come so far during his time with Biggies, and we know he will succeed with the right family!

Age: 2 years old
Kids: I’m a super bouncy dude, and while I don’t mind meeting kids, I’m way too energetic to live with any youngsters right now.
Dogs: I LOVE other dogs and would love to live with them. They make me feel safe and secure when it’s time to be home alone.
Cats: I’ll pass, I can’t resist chasing small animals.
